LAST DAY of Art To Remember submissions and Mathnasium Night!

Art To Remember!

We are happy to announce that Art to Remember is still here but today is the last day to upload your artwork!

Reminder: You don’t have to buy any artwork-themed keepsakes at this moment. You just need to upload the artwork by Tuesday, February 16th. If you’d like your keepsakes by Mother’s Day 2021, you have to order by March 24th.

First, have your child create some meaningful artwork, or find some that you have saved, and upload onto their site. Their artwork can really be placed onto anything, including: a water bottles, makeup bags, and…face masks!

Reidy Creek will receive 25% of proceeds.

More information can be found in the flyer below, including how to upload your art. Enjoy your keepsakes!

Mathnasium

As long as it’s not Geometry, I’m in!

Mathnasium will be hosting a fun math night at home, and you’re invited! Please RSVP to this fun event that will take place virtually on Friday, February 19th from 6:00-7:30PM!

What’s great about this event is that you don’t even have to be a student at Reidy Creek and all ages are encouraged to attend! So if you know cousins and/or friends who love math and games, forward the information to them!

Please see the flyer below for details. You can RSVP HERE!

Finally, my favorite subject: Yearbook!

Thank you to all of our talented and creative Coyotes that entered our Yearbook Cover Art Contest! We had 16 wonderful entries and a hard time judging! The winners are as follows:

Jayden Coley – 5th Grade, Mrs. Putnam’s class won the front cover

Francesca Mullins – 5th Grade, Mrs. Threatt’s class won the back cover

Congratulations!

All artwork will be presented in the yearbook so make sure to snag a copy (don’t worry, we’ll let you know when you can order as details become available).

Also, Mr. Rocha mentioned that formal portraits will not be taken this year due to our current situation. Each class is different and may have their own plans for portraits this year, but just in case they don’t have plans, we are asking parents to submit a recent photo of their child to be included as a fail-safe for their class portrait. If you have or could take a recent photo of each of your children separately, and send it, we’d greatly appreciate it. 🙂

It could be posed or candid, serious or silly, think sunglasses, bunny ears, a thumbs up!
This may be the only opportunity for your child to have a portrait photo in the yearbook. For those that do not submit, the child’s name will still be mentioned with their class, but a photo will be absent.

Our yearbook e-mail address is as follows: RCYEARBOOKPHOTOS@yahoo.com

Please also be on the lookout for a Google Form that will allow families to submit photos for yearbook pages.

Looking for Dedication Forms? We are currently working on the logistics for parents to submit their payment. If you familiar with dedications and know that which pictures and wording you’d like to use, you can also submit your content to: RCYEARBOOKPHOTOS@yahoo.com

There is free shipping to the family’s home with a minimum $25 books-only purchase. Last year, Scholastic introduced E-Wallets as an easy way for students to shop. They have expanded on that this year. Parents can set up the E-Wallet and then family and/or friends can also contribute to it.
Teachers can also set up E-Wallets and families can contribute to it. Then teachers are able to shop the fair with the money contributed to the E-Wallet. It is an adaptation of the wish list we used at the in-person fairs in the past.

Because of how COVID-19 has affected every family’s and every business’s situation differently, the PTA board has decided to tentatively sponsor, support, and highlight restaurants that have consistently shown their support to us, and one of those restaurants is The Habit! None of the money brought in from Habit will be collected as part of a fundraiser.

The Book Fair is coming! Save the Date!

It could be posed or candid, serious or silly.
