Yes, the BOGO Book Fair will be on campus again! There are set times for classes to peruse and shop, but it will also be open before and after school!

Here are the times they are open outside of school hours:

Tuesday, May 24th and Wednesday, May 25th:

7:50 am – 8:10 am

2:40 pm – 3:00 pm (with parents)

Thursday, May 26th:

PTA Association Meeting Tuesday, May 24th at 6:15pm

If you’d like to join our last Association meeting of the school year, please email us at reidycreekpta@gmail.com for the Zoom meeting ID number. Reminder: you don’t have to be a PTA member to attend, but you DO need to be a member to vote on current roundtable issues.

Movie Night Thursday, May 26th after Open House

Yes, you heard that right! Movie Night is going to happen right after Reidy Creek’s Open House. We will need volunteers to help set up a projection screen, and to possibly manage concessions. Please email us at: reidycreekpta@gmail.com to volunteer.

Looking for PTA Board and Committee Members!

As it stands, we are still looking for a few Board positions to be filled. If the Board does not fill vital positions, the sad reality is that Reidy Creek may not have a PTA next year, read: no Trunk-or-Treat, no Father-Daughter Dance, no extra funds for teachers to purchase supplies. If you are interested in making our children’s elementary years more memorable, please consider joining a committee or becoming a board member. If you have questions for the PTA Board, we will have our last Coffee With the PTA on June 2nd. More details to come!

The PTA Executive Board is the first line of parent volunteers who see what money comes in and makes discussions and suggestions for how it should be spent. They track money for teacher mini-grants, new P.E. equipment, and library funding. They procure materials for the student store and put together the school’s yearbook. Please consider joining!

Thank you for reading and for all your support!

Coffee With the PTA Thursday May 12th

In Person Coffee With the PTA scheduled for Thursday, May 12th 8:15 am

Our second in-person Coffee With the PTA is scheduled for next Thursday, May 12th at 8:15am in the Family Liaison Room. Please check in at the office first.

They will discuss what events might take place next year, what monies we have left to spend on those events, and your feedback and attendance would be greatly appreciated!

Don’t wait! We have a limited run of 160 that are scheduled to arrive before school gets out before June. After all 160 are sold, they will only be printed in batches once another 25 are ordered.

A big THANK YOU to all the teachers, staff, and parents who contributed and sent in their pictures.

Your New Executive Board!

At our past PTA association meeting, the Association elected these new and returning officers for the following positions. Please congratulate them!

  • Secretary – Veronica Nagao
  • Vice President of Membership – Jenn Ramirez
  • Auditor – Andrea Orellana

Don’t fret! If you’d like to still make a difference and see where and how money is spent, we are still looking to fill these positions:

  • Historian – keeps track of PTA member and volunteer hours, manages social media
  • Treasurer – signs checks, completes a simple Quickbooks report for each meeting

The two vital positions that must be filled are President and Treasurer as the Reidy Creek PTA cannot function unless those two positions are filled. No experience is necessary, and training and resources are available. Please consider joining!

Also, thank you for joining us at our past Restaurant Night at Rubio’s!

To see how much we made, please join us at the last PTA Association meeting scheduled for May 24th at 6:15pm via Zoom. More details to come!

Next up, yearbook dedications!

What are yearbook dedications?

Dedications are a section of the yearbook where parents can purchase a page, or part thereof to dedicate to their Reidy Creek student(s). You provide pictures and wording and it gets published! You can purchase a dedication for any student at any grade level, but we’ve found that they’re popular with 5th grade families as their kids move onto their next school. Get the tissues ready! See the flyers below for details.

Photos Needed!

1st Day & Week of Welcome Photos

The yearbook committee is already in the works planning this year’s yearbook and we need your help!

We are asking for parents/guardians to submit their “First Day of School” pictures and and Week of Welcome spirit photos to:

rcyearbookphotos@yahoo.com

Show us your biggest, brightest, Coyote smiles holding up your signs, in grade level colors, fan gear, etc. Pictures can be posed or candid, solos or in groups with siblings and parents! Let other RC parents/guardians know, especially if it is their first time sending someone to Reidy Creek!

To submit, please make sure pictures meet these parameters:

– Each picture should be at least 500kb in size.

– Include your student’s name and grade in either the message body or e-mail subject bar.

Please note that:

– All submitted pictures are for yearbook consideration only and may or may not be used. Pictures may also be used on a different event page than the one intended (i.e. may be used on a Grade level page instead of an Event page).

– Photos will NOT be shared on Facebook, on any other social media sites.

– It takes some added effort to respond to everyone’s e-mails. If you’d like us to respond saying that we’ve received your photos, please just say so in the e-mail!  Thank you so much for your participation!
