It’s that time again for the Invention Convention! The previous years have been a great success, and both the PTA and the teachers want to make sure every student has a chance to exercise their brains and creativity by inventing some cool things.
What is the Invention Convention?
The Invention convention gives students an opportunity to invent a solution to a problem they have discovered or experienced or to improve upon inventions that already exist.
Through the Invention Convention, students learn and reinforce science, literacy and math skills. This activity fosters curiosity and provides students with an opportunity to have fun while learning. The event integrates “Leader In Me” program goals by creating weekly exercises and focuses.
The students must submit their invention (includes their invention, display board, and journal) by Tuesday, May 30. Winners will be announced June 2nd, during Friday morning assembly.
How can students participate?
All students from 1st to 5th grade are encouraged to join in this event. There are many ways to participate:
- as an individual
- as a team
- or even as an entire class.
All students who wish to participate must complete and return the Intent to Invent form. Click here to view the form.
