The Apex Fun Run and Health and Safety Fair was a huge success! Students had a great time running, walking and even dancing around the Apex Fun Run track while raising funds for our school.
Based on the preliminary numbers, we expect to have met and potentially exceeded our goal of $19,000! We expect to have a final profit amount as all of the pledges are submitted, which should be within the next week.
We would like to thank ALL of our Reidy Creek families, friends, and local organizations who made a pledge in support of our school as well as those who contributed donations in the form of gift cards, water, and oranges, AND to those of you who volunteered your time to help the entire event run smoothly. We could not have done this without your support!
If you have not already submitted your pledge payment, please be sure to check your email so you can pay online through the Apex link. Students will also be sent home with a collection envelope this week, should any of your child’s pledges come in the form of checks or cash. Please return the envelope by Thursday, 10/6.
We would like to send a BIG Thank You to the following for joining our students on campus to promote healthy eating, physical activity, and community safety:
- San Diego Sockers (Click here to view their game schedule)
- Easy West MMA So Cal (Click here to view a flyer about a self-defense workshop they are running)
- SmileBuilders Children’s Dentistry, San Marcos
- Jamie Cassutt-Sanchez (EUST Wellness Coordinator)
- Escondido Police Department (Click here to see a flyer about a simple way to support the Escondido Police Department)
Be on the look out for promotions and/or events from each group. This is a great time to ask your students questions about the Fair and engage in discussions about healthy choices and safety.
Here’s a quick look at some of the fun we had!
Lastly, we’d like to thank Palomar Mountain Spring Water, Vons (El Norte Parkway Plaza), Sprouts of Escondido, Costco of San Marcos, and our parents who donated water, gift cards, and oranges for the students during the event.
If you have any questions regarding the event, please contact the PTA at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our FaceBook page.
